The End of Day One

Day One started great.

I gave the plan to the kids and they were o.k. with it. Through the generous gift of a Brother in Chirst, my two oldest kids had been given iPads, and so they excitedly followed along on the digital Bibles, as I read aloud, Genesis 1 - 6:9.

My son read, in a very sinister voice, the scripture were Satan convinced Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.

My daughter said she had never realized the verse where Cain took a wife. And the discussion began, where did she come from?

Our phrase we were learning in Hebrew..."Favored by God". The question to the kids, "How do we live, so as to be favored by God."

From Day 4 in creation, we reminded ourselves that God "set" the stars where they are, and did not throw them out there, randomly.

We realized that the first blessing was on day 5, to the birds and fish.

The end of the day was good. Just as God had seen at the end of each day, "it was good." So was the end of our time together.

There is power in God's Word.
